Notice of Cancellation of the Vivacity Showcase March 25, 2020
In light of the concerns surrounding COVID 19, and the decision made earlier today regarding the cancellation of large program bookings at the Central Library, the 3rd Annual Vivaicty Showcase has been canceled.
As you can imagine our students have worked tirelessly throughout the semester as they explored Calgary's creative and cultural industries. They are an amazing and talented group of students who have worked with alumni, mentors, coaches and changemaker artists to learn how our creative industries help to build community and a sense of belonging. As many of you know, the Vivacity event is your opportunity to talk with our students, learn about their work, test drive their citizen experiments, and support data gathering efforts regarding the role of the arts in our community. While we are all disappointed that we have had to cancel the event, please know that we will be looking for alternate ways to engage with community and share our learnings regarding the pivotal role that our creative industries play in Calgary.
I would also like to personally thank everyone who supported this year's class, including; the city of Calgary and the Civic Innovation Lab, Calgary Arts Development, Calgary Economic Development, the Institute for Community Prosperity and of course the Calgary Public Library, who so generously provided access to our 'classroom' each week!
Thank you so much for your support and we look forward to seeing you next year!
Keep well.
